TRACK AND FIELD

Track and field is available to individuals of all ages and expertise levels who meet a Paralympic qualification (i.e have a physical disability). Wichita Adaptive Sports provides scholarships to those on the track team for travel expenses to select competitions with youth and adults from across the United States.

Track and field is coached by Paralympian, Liz Willis, and is well supported at practices with multiple physical therapists who professionally adapt exercises for each individual person.

Madison’s Story

Madison Castillo has loved being part of a team with WAS. She has competed since high school in adaptive track, which earned her a track scholarship to Friend’s University. Upon graduation, Madison has continued to be involved in our track and field program through competition at Move United Nationals which has recently been made available to adults! By working with WAS she was able to help mentor the younger athletes by helping them with long jump. She has developed greater appreciation of her strength and skills by being a part of a team, and now serves on the Wichita Adaptive Sports Board.
